Demolition of the old Biltmore Terrace at 87th Street and Collins Avenue began earlier this month, pretty much sealing the Morris Lapidus-designed hotel's fate. Developers Terra Group have just submitted plans to the Miami Beach Design Review Board for its replacement, an as-yet-unnamed, minimalist, pill-shaped seventeen floor condo tower designed by starchitect Renzo Piano (Kobi Karp is the architect of record).

Dania Pointe to offer 600 apartments starting at $1,600 a month, as well as bowling, movies
As builders of the Dania Pointe lifestyle complex in Dania Beach broke ground for the entertainment phase of their project Thursday, it was confirmed that a South Florida developer will erect 600 rental apartment units on the site west of Interstate 95.
Prime Biscayne Property’s 13-story Edgewater hotel gains development review OK
A new hotel is planned for the Edgewater neighborhood of Miami. Prime Biscayne Property LLC has submitted plans to construct a 13-story mixed-use hotel at 3047 Biscayne Blvd., at the southeast corner of the intersection with Northeast 31st Street. The city’s Urban Development Review Board voted June 20 to recommend approval of the project with conditions.
