Kobi Karp in ArchRecord.com / Capri South Beach
The program brief Karp took on for this project:
To design a contextual tower adjacent to a historic low-rise apartment building–designed by an architect who once worked for Meyer Lansky.
Finally, we hear how the building has played a role in a broader urban-planning initiative in Miami Beach–opening up access to Biscayne Bay.
Karp’s own favorite detail:
The way the twisting tower evokes the torque of a sailboat. He also explains how his designs encourage outdoor living-especially on the deluxe penthouse levels. Video by Bryant Rousseau.
